I keep getting the same error message that Apple was unable to locate the album artwork I had requested (I had no problem with itunes 7.6). Also, one of my album cover artworks don't show up on the ipod touch; it's black.

Is the album art in question available on the iTunes store? You may have to alter your ID3 tags to better match those in the store if so.
If you have black cover art on the touch you may have to disable and renenable album artwork to rebuild the touch album artwork database.

Well, if it sez it can't find it...it p'bly can't find it ;-) Make sure the tags are accurate, with no funky characters or spaces at the end of the strings. For the one that turns up missing, try doing a Get Info on that track, delete the art that shows, and download it again.
(If your music is mp3 files, you might want to consider permanently embedding art within the files; far fewer iTunes errors that way. Go to a website, grab an image, drag into the Artwork box of a file's Get Info box.)

The album cover artworks are available on itunes. With the previous itunes, I was simply able to obtain various album cover artworks by simply selecting "get album artwork." Regarding the blank black image on my touch, I just deleted the entire album and transferred them again to my ipod and now the album cover artworks show up.

I have this problem with a few albums I have in my library. For the life of me, I couldn't get the Katy Perry album cover. The ID's are exact to the album in the iTunes Store. But I still can't get it.
I also have trouble getting covers for soundtracks. I had to do a Google Images search and manually add them. Same with Katy Perry's One of the Boys album.
