Hello:

I am having a hard time organizing my soundtrack albums on the iPod touch. When in coverflow mode, it doesn't show the right artists.

Either it shows the same artists for all the songs, or it puts "Various Artists" instead of the artist's name.

I already checked "Part of a Compilation" and filled the Album Artist field with "Various Artists".

Anyone have some ideas?

Thanks,
Roberto

change the album artist to various artists and leave the artist as they should be and uncheck the compilation and that should work out , that's how I ended up doing mine and it seems to work out

I already checked "Part of a Compilation" and filled the Album Artist field with "Various Artists".What you've done is correct, in that you've grouped all the artists into one Compilation album. It sounds like the issue you have is just in Coverflow, where Compilations are grouped (and displayed) by Album Artist. In Coverflow the display can only show one artist, so exactly how would you expect it to be displayed if there are multiple artists on the album?

I don't have my Touch in front of me so I could be wrong on this, but I think if you have the 2.1 firmware you will now see the artist names if you open the album up from Coverflow (previously you'd only see the song names when you open the album from Coverflow). But in the Coverflow display, only one name can be shown.

ok, I understand.

What do you prefer, that the iPod touch shows "Various Artists" as the artist for all songs, or show the first artist for all songs?

I don't like neither one, but I guess I don't have a choice right now.

Thanks,
Roberto

Personally I don't use Coverflow on the iPod ... too slow to navigate the through the library.

For the record, I was wrong about the 2.1 firmware -- you cannot see the Artist names when you select an album from Coverflow, just a list of songs. The 2.1 release does show Artist names in Playlists, which is great!
