I just bought a 16 GB 2G Touch today, first iPod I've owned in 3 years. The chrome back is already getting scratched up, and I need to find a case for it fast. Preferably the plastic see through kinds that people use on the current Touch... Any help? Thanks!

Well where would I be able to buy those specific see through cases? Are they online only items or would those carts in the mall have em?

You should get 'The invisibleSHIELD' in addition to a case. It works great for my cell phone (which is partly touch screen) and old video ipod. Just google it. I can't post a link because of my newbie status!

I just ordered mine online. I went to 2 different Best Buy's last night and an Apple store and they have TONS of 3G iPhone cases but 0 iPod Touch 2g cases! I ordered the Incipio black silicon case, it should arrive in 2 to 3 days. I love silicon cases. Next I need to find a screen protector! I'm loving the 32GB so far. I've upgraded from 8gb nano (as my one and only iPod) to this 32GB. I've filled up about 10GB's so far.

Hi,
Did you receive your incipio black case? Is it the dermaSHOT? I'd like one too but their own site says it out of stock.

How do you like it? Does the included screen protector do a good job? Does it distract from the clear and sharp appearance of the Touch 2G?

I can't believe I've spend way more time looking at cases online than I did when I decided to buy the Touch 2G in the first place.

I keep going back and forth as to whether I should be a film protector such as ZAGG, FullBody, or BodyGuard or a tight fitting case like the dermaSHOT seems to be at least from what I read.

Your comments?
Thanks,
Steve

Hey, yeah I received it last Friday, the 19th. Its the dermaSHOT case. I love the case! At first it felt slippery a little but after the case collects some dust and hand perspiration, it begins to gain some grip so its not so slippery anymore. It protects the entire back, covers the volume buttons but it has volume button imprints so you can still tell where the volume buttons are. It does add a little thickness to the Touch now but thats ok, its not that bad of thickness. Did I mention I love this case?

This case does not come with a screen protector! And screen protectors don't distract from the clear and sharp appearance, this one girl in my class has a 1g iPod Touch and she has a screen protector for it and it looks and works fine! I'm going to order one soon I think.

Thanks for the quick reply.

From what I read hear in ilounge I thought it did come with some type of screen/film.

"Sold in five colors, Incipio's new dermaSHOT for the second-generation iPod touch ($18) is the first case we've seen that's guaranteed to match the curves and dimensions of the new touchscreen iPod. Packed with a Dock Connector cover, screen film, cleaning cloth and applicator card, dermaSHOT is made from silicone rubber and features integrated protectors for the touch's top and side buttons"

Whaty exactly did come with it? Did you buy it from myincipio?

What screen protector do you plan to get? I read that some are better than others. Some of difficult to apply, etc.

Thanks,
Steve

I bought an iClear for my new 32gb iPod Touch from Best Buy last night and the case seems pretty good. I might return it and purchase a different one because I need a case with more grip.

I bought the iclear from best buy today and I'll be returning it tomorrow. I really dont care for the 2 piece snap together cover. I guess I'll go with a dermashot. anyone know if the dermashots hold their form well? I would be removing and reinstalling frequently (I also use a arm band case).

Yeah mine didn't come with 'screen film' nor a 'cleaning cloth'!!! I'm gonna email them about this! I was also kind of upset that... I ordered Sept. 13th and it didn't leave California until the 16th! Sept 13th was a saturday night and I figured they wouldn't get to it until Monday and was expecting it like that Wednesday. They probably got TONS of orders in over the weekend and were scrambling to get them mailed out and in the process... left out my screen protector and cleaning cloth! So I'll be emailing them and asking them about this!

I don't know what screen protector I'm going to get, I want to see what Incipio has to say about my screen film first....

Perhaps, but as far as 2G IPT-specific cases go...BB is--at least for now--the ONLY store to go for a 2G IPT-specific case. ;)
