View Full Version : Video, but different...
Personally i just dont think a video iPod would work - but i dont think that means the iPod wont support video... Just "imagine" you can rip DVD's (i know its illegal) to the iPod, then plug it into a dock that is connected to a TV and play it! You could also play music through it. Also it would make sense then to have bigger Hd's (i.e. 100Gb), that would in turn mean people with seriously big music collections could use them for music. What do you think?

I don't think its illegal to rip DVDs as long as its for personnal use only.

I would have 2 screens for...
1.music (normal size)
2.video (a bigger size, flip out)
This would save the battery. I like the idea being able to connect to a TV or something like that. If they do have video it would be cool to have TV on it

I think two screens would cost more. I much prefer the idea of hooking up to a TV, all they would really have to do (I'm pretty sure) would be to make it with an AV out, you know, like on a video camera. Most TVs/VCRs have AV in, so things would work out well. Nice.

2 screens would get enormously complicated, and the AV out thing would seriously hinder the quality. I don't if there's really a good plan to do the video iPod, without battery life, or quality.

Its simple the second screen is for video, press a button it comes out. Whilst its out the first is off or displaying info and play lists.

yeah i know, ive said the exact same thing in earlier posts (that were lost) but no one responded.
about the two screens... instead of a screen that flips out after you press a button why couldnt they place a widescreen on the back of the iPod?
The front will have the navigation of the mini with a color screen for navigating, and the back will be a widescreen capable of veiwing movies and visualations, album art, whatever.
the dock should have DVI and SVideo outputs for the television.
here's a picture with a widscreen on the back of the iPod...

Hi its Spud thanks for responding its good to see that there are people that believe in two screens, I had this idea for better life of the battery (of course the battery will still be effected but its better then having just one big always on widscreen) and for better viewing
The screen on the back idea sounds good but then I started to think about it how would you control it?
But the idea about having DVI and SVideo outputs for the television very good, like it.
I would love to see the Ipod with a TV and Radio Tuner
We have mission "origbarton37" and "WhatIsWrong" to convince as many people as Humanly possible that two screens is the way to go.
