Cannot call back missed calls

Ok, so when I miss a call it shows up on my Iphone. However, whenever I click on the missed call, the operator says "The call cannot be completed as dialed". I realise that calls show up with a +1 in front of the (XXX) XXX-XXXX. I am always forced to go into my contacts and select the person who called me, or to manually type in the number without the +1. Is there a way around this?

that's odd, does this happen with any call or just that one? have you done a reset?

It happens with every missed call...i've done a reset and still nothing
