2.1 update solves problem of slow sync and backup

At least for me this has completely resolved the issue: It was taking forever -- as in, hours -- to sync the contents of my OSX Address Book with the iPod touch. Now it's down to a couple of minutes.

Backing up the iPod contents never ran as slowly for me as for some other folks, but now this rips along quickly also. The whole process now goes about as fast as on my old Nano. Which is to say, not lightning-fast, but not agonizingly slow either.

All of a sudden, my Ipod Itouch isn't just syncing, it is backing up. Has this always happened or was a setting changed? It takes forever for me to hook up and sync music, podcasts, etc and can't do this in a hurry. What can I do?

I am totally ecstatic about the speed of backing up with the new firmware ... now i don't have to monitor the syncing and can just let it do it ... it always backed up for me
