Sound issue after 2.1 update

Updated to Itunes 8 / firmware 2.1 and before the update the sound was ok while listening to my podcast / songs / etc on my Shure earbuds. Now even at the min volume and I do mean min volume it would BLOW my hearing out. I didn't have much time to fool with last night as I have a very busy schedule at work but I am on break and thought I'd see if anyone else had the same issue? or a fix? I can't use it the way it is now!

Not a fan right now but atleast I can hear for the time being,

I believe the volume levels were increased. I've noticed as well that the old time radio that I listen to is louder than before...
