Hi,
Does anyone know how many pixels the album cover art are displayed on the ipod Touch?
I don't want to have a 700x700 picture taking up space if it's only going to display 200x200
I tried doing a search and found that the pixels for the entire ipod Touch screen is 480*320.
Thanks for your help.

Well, it will scale down your 700x700 monsters, but those end up being significantly larger on disk than the ~320x320 that look like the largest displayable album art for the Touch. (Figuring that it displays full width, and the art is square so it can't be very far from 320x320. QED etc and so forth.)
I gotta say, after getting my first Touch, I ended up spending a couple of evenings trawling for better album art, my 80x80 thumbnails were obviously not up to the task.
Hi,
Does anyone know how many pixels the album cover art are displayed on the ipod Touch. As was stated, album art is square and takes up the width of the screen, so 320x320. If you art is larger than that, iTunes will scale down to that so it won't take unnecessary space in your cover art database. However, if you embed your art directly into the music files, then you will be using up more space than needed. Still, it typically doesn't amount to enough to make a real difference, unless you're using some really hi-rez uncompressed art or something. I try to have all of mine over 500x500 even though it only displays 320x320 on my iPhone, simply because there may be other things where the art can be displayed at a higher rez (e.g. Apple TV).
