View Full Version : iTunes 8 ruined my iPhone

Well as soon as I got iTunes 8 I loved it and then that night did a sync and backup. The next morning (since that's how long it takes) I grabbed the iPhone and took off to work. Well right when I got there I realized all my music and video was gone. I thought I might just need to drag it back on but once I got home I realized that when I dock the phone it stayed on the home screen and it usually shows the battery so that was the first problem and then I tried to redrag playlists and it shows like it's gonna copy but does nothing when I drop. So now I can't put anything on my phone unless I check the sync for stuff and that's just not how I roll. So does anyone have any info about this and if I have to go back to a previous version until they fix this? Thanks
I would try unchecking the manually manage box, hit sync, then rechecking it and hit sync again. Then see if the drag n drop works. Also try resetting the iPhone.

I installed iT 8 and synced my phone just fine. The sync was a bit faster than iT 7 even.

god ever since I got this thing 4 weeks ago I already had to restore 6 times. I'll do this when I get home today

Yeah that was probably my bad... I checked and it must have unchecked my Manual Sync checkbox and it works fine for now.. LOL.
But yeah the reason I had to restore much because iTunes would crash when i was in mid sync, and then that would cause the phone to go into just a mode where it just shows the apple logo forever and never starts back up when i do a restart... But yeah got my iphone working with all the music again.. Too bad I had to go refigure out what I had on there.

Happen to be using Vista? I read an article that talked about the problems Vista users ran into after updating to iTunes 8.
