Formatting computer, iPhone question

I plan on formatting my Windows PC in the next few days. Will my iPhone be erased when I connect it to my computer and it syncs?? What's the proper procedure for formating a computer and keeping all my iTunes info?? Thanks for your help.

I recently formatted my windows computer. I copied my iTunes folder, including all my music and iTunes library files, to an external hard drive. After reinstalling iTunes I copied the iTunes folder back to the My Music folder and my library was back to where it was and everything worked fine.

Don't forget to save your safari bookmarks or they will be deleted from the iPhone when you sync :o Also when you connect to iTunes it sees the computer as a new one that must be authorized to play DRM protected files.
