Im just hoping that tommorow in apple's even that steve will announce a 32gb iphone cause that is the only thing that has been holding me back from getting one, i mean i know that the reason that the touch has 32gb and not the ihpne is because thats the only advantage that the itouch has over the iphone but maybe tommorow apple will announce a 64gb itouch and will bump the iphone to 32gb.

32 GB on a phone? Really?
That's just crazy even though it's easily possible. With the "Simplify Media" app you can access your whole computer's music library no matter how many gigs it takes up.

how is it crazy the same way that apple did it to the itouch this can be easily done on the iphone now if it was hdd based then thats a differ story but iphone current memory is flash based so that shouldnt be hard to do. also i want to know what is the highest capacity available in flash memory i think that its 32gb but i might be wrong.

I know the iPod touch has it which would make it normal if the iPhone got 32 GB but for phones in general, 32 GB is crazy!

oh ok i got you now yea ur rite but the iphone is unigue i mean imo the iphone is the best phone ever created i truly agree with steve jobs when he said that the iphone is the reinvention of the phone i mean look at how so many companys are trying to copy the iphone i mean before the iphone there wasnt that many touchscreen phones but since the iphone first came out alot of touchscreen phones are being released, if u compare all the other touchscreen phones that has come out since the iphone's release almost all if not all has a similar interface and the way u can browse thrue photos and some even have cover flow. imo apple did reinvent the phone.

Agreed. About your first post, I don't think they're going to announce a 32GB iPhone 3G tomorrow. I think they will announce the 4th gen iPod Nano, 2nd gen iPod touch, iTunes 8.0, and iPhone/iPod touch firmware 2.1.

The 32GB iPod touch has two 16GB SSD chips. The iPhone only has room for one chip. That's why we currently do not have a 32GB iPhone.
if 32GB SSD chips are available and affordable now, I could see the 64GB iPod touch (and possibly the 32GB iPhone) showing up tomorrow.

32GB iPhone won't be announced until 2009 at the earliest.

dmiZe,
Source? I tend to agree, but I'd expect someone as assertive as you to back up his/her claim. :-)

I think there is a good chance they might bump it to 32GB.

Simplify is terrible. Awful sound quality - worse than FM - and it had serious lag issues when I tried it. Either artists would show up with incomplete catalogs or songs would play incompletely. Until they can get this to stream CD quality music without errors, there is no reason for this to exist. It is a pile of dung. And that is exactly why larger capacity Iphones would be great, and why large capacity Ipods will continue to sell.
i hope not... i JUST got my 16gb iphone a few weeks ago.

works fantastic for me over wifi and 3G and even works (with buffering between tracks) over Edge sometimes. your experience with simplify is not the norm.

Same here. Simplify Media works great for me most of the time. I did run into some connection issues on the day it was introduced in the App Store, but it was due to a network overload and they were quick to fix the problem. I am a very happy Simplify Media user now.

seriously simplify is the bomb. The slight wait between track selections is moot for me, considering I now have access to 157GBof music at cd quality for free. I'd pay $30 or more for this app. It is sometimes troublesom with larger libraries, but no biggy. The fact that I can now load more apps makes a 16gb iPhone more than enough for me. Besides one could figure a 32GB iPhone would run upward of $600. Too much money for a phone. Just buy a notebook computer if you're getting to that price point.

i think 32gb is a sweet point for the iPhone for music, video, pics, and apps. i'm sure we'll see that next year with the iPhone 3G v.2...

ahh thats what i was thinking as well
i would rather see faster memory chips than more because TBH these chips apple are using in the touches and iphones are ####EN SLOW The original 1g nano transfer rate was AMAZING and that had Flash based memory.
I would rather see an 16 gig iphone that will sync twice as fast than a 32 gig that takes forever.
