Hi Folks,

I live in the UK and am due an upgrade soon so hence I want the new iPhone.

A few questions if you don't mind!

I was planning on selling my old 5g Ipod and using the iphone 16gb model to store my music, movies and pics on. Does the 16gb Iphone model come with 16gb or is it 13,14,15gb type of thing???? I have 13gn of stuff on the old one and I can trim off some stuff but not much.

Can the iphone be put into offline mode when I just want to use the ipod side of it??? (say at night when i'm in bed????)

Can you stream music, movies or pics from a file over the wifi???

Has all the issues regarding mms been sorted???

And finally, would you recommend it?? haha silly question I know but I I don't want to fork out cash when I don't need to!!!!

Thanks for the advice and help in advance!

Yes ... there is an airplane mode which turns off all radios (cell/wifi etc)

Can you stream music, movies or pics from a file over the wifi???
You can stream using various products ... Simplify media has launched an iphone app in the store which works ok

Has all the issues regarding mms been sorted???
The issues surrounding mms like .... it doesn't DO mms :) ... no not sorted but someone in UK has written an mms gateway but its not free

And finally, would you recommend it??
Hopefully 2.1 will launch tomorrow and fix yet more bugs but generally still the best device i've every owned.

Go for it ... i'm not regretting it .... just remember that the iphone isn't perfect and has limitations (bluetooth stereo audio etc) which some people don't like.... plus you're tied to itunes etc.

If you can live with these then you'll be happy

You can use a bluetooth headset it is just limited to that and it works with some other things. You can not bluetooth stuff to other peoples phones though. Even with the small limitations as pointed out by wallisj, it is the best phone I have used in a long time.

The whole interface and user experience is just light years ahead of any other phone. There are a lot of iPhone lookalikes, while they look the part they just don't get UI design at all. There are a few problems, I won't lie, but most of these can be fixed with firmware updates.
