Problem with buying music on iPhone

Hey, this is my first post here :)

I recently started buying some songs on my iPhone, using the iTunes Store application. Everything works great, I enter my password and get the song on my iPhone, etc.

I was wondering if the music that I bought on my iPhone is supposed to transfer to my computer's iTunes music library when i plug my phone into my PC?

I wanted to take my purchased songs off of my iPhone, and transfer them to my iTunes library to listen to them/make my own playlist to listen to on the PC, but it won't let me drag the music from my phone to my iTunes.

Not sure if this makes sense, I'd be glad to answer any questions to help solve my question.

Thought I'd also add, if I go to iTunes and search for songs that I've already bought on my phone, it only gives me the option to buy it again.
