Hey.

Im planning on fiting my iPhone into my car, on a twisting mount so i can use it to watch videos. I have built the mount and have started thinking about the wiring.

I plan to cut a normal iPhone USB cable, connect pins 19 & 20 (12V FireWire Power) to the fuse for the lighter socket and then connect pins 3 & 4 (L&R audio output) directly to my stero line in using a 3.5mm jack and a jack to phono connector.

I belive i need to tell the iPhone to output the sound to the dock socket, and i think i use pin 21 (accessory indicator) with a specific resistor to GRD to tell the iPhone something is connected.

Does any one have any ideas on what resistor to hang of 21? Or even if this is the right way to go about it?

What current dhould i be putting into the iPhone? can i pull straight off the lighter socket fuse or should i step the current down?

Obviously i will fit all relevant Grounds too.

Also, for future adjustments to my install (i am planning on getting a decent sized screen in my car) is the video out pin 8 as it was on the ipod photo slideshow output?

2nd Also, If anybody has any comments or just wants to tell me im doing something worng, please post, as i dont want to blow up my iphone.

Thanks
