I'm planning on buying an iPhone in October but I don't know if I'd qualify for the $300 price on the 16gb or not. I renewed my contract with AT&T in February, and would just like to replace one of my current phones.

Best way would be to contact AT&T and ask if you are eligible. However, with upgrading to the iPhone, they have not been very giving in terms of early upgrades to people. I have a freind who is within 1 month of being eligible for the upgrade price and has been repeatedly informed that there is no exceptions being allowed.

my contract wasn't up until October and i was able to get upgraded early July. just call AT&T and apply a little social engineering.

My freind tried that...even with a phone that was broken for the 11th replacement under warranty. Guess he just doesn't know how to correctly buck the system!

Go to att.com. Log in and click upgrade eligibility. It will tell you the date.

social engineering involves buttering up the person on the other end. she caved, then called her super, who then called one of my local ATT stores to make sure they were updated :D

11 Iphone replacements. Man that is crazy. Your friend must have a way of covering up the damage or paying someone off. I just can't imagine that many phones gone bad.
