JVC KD-PDR80 car deck and a 30 gig ipod

I have the a 30 gig ipod video listed here

I also have the JVC KD-PDR80 car deck

Now i have read the manual 100 times and it says that as long as you have a 5th generation or ipod nano then the car deck will work fine...

Is there any way to change this?

I know i can use the AUX IN but id like to use the USB to charge it as well...

Any help/ideas/solutions?

Are you using the KS-PD100 iPod interface?

If it is an iPod Video it is a 5th Gen.
