In May 2008 I installed an Alpine IDA-X001 receiver in my car.

I have a long USB cable running from the receiver to my glove compartment. A short black Alpine cable that has a USB to iPod dock connector plugs into that cable.

The dock connector has fallen apart. Different family members plug their iPods into the connector and in 3 months it has failed. An Apple USB to dock connector does not work; apparently the wiring is slightly different.

When I called Crutchfield, where I bought the unit, to get a replacement, they issued an RMA with free shipping both directions. Once they receive the old one I'll get a new one. Crutchfield does not stock the cable as a separate part. If another cable fails and the unit is out of warranty I want to be able to replace it.

I have searched the internet and can not find a vendor who sells it.

I want to know where can I order this cable as a replacement part.

Hey I bought a used IDA-X001 and had the same problem. I "Googled" it, and it is Alpine part# 09-09244Z01. Pacparts has it online for like 20 bucks, and there is a Ebay auction with one for about the same price.
