On my installer every time I try to download something it goes through the download part but at the installing part it closes and sends me back to my main screen. Help please.

I'm guessing you mean Installer.app from the jailbreak? If you're installing with firmware 1.1.x (not sure about 2.0.x), you have limited space to install into (the apps are installed in a 300MB partition - run out of space on the partition, and you're Installer.app will crash which is what sounds like is happening). Go search in the hacks forum for a post on Installer crashing and it'll give you directions on how to relocate your applications so you have more space (up to the max space on your iPod Touch).
