since 2.0.1 released I knew they hadn't fixed keyboard lag or contact lag... but today I found out they didn't fix 3rd party app crashes either. my 3rd party apps suddenly stopped working they open and crash immediately just like in 2.0

so now I'm wondering if 2.0.1 fixed anything? this is getting annoying

Ever since 2.0.1 I have not had any keyboard lag. There is still Contact lag but it is way better than 2.0.

I've had neither keyboard lag nor App crashes with 2.0.1.

I dunno sounds more like luck to me. all of the above issues were known software issues and not due to faulty hardware. also are you using a 3g or original?

It may also be certain applications you have running and downloaded. I do notice applications crashing and other lag but much less than before. I do like the keyboard being more responsive.

I have an iPhone 3G. I experienced keyboard and contact lags with 2.0. The keyboard lag was particularly annoying with Japanese language input. Since I updated to 2.0.1, I've had much less keyboard lags and somewhat less contact lag.

Personally with my 16GB iPod Touch , I have had MORE trouble and am on 5 restores in 3 days!

ok well I'm going to just have to assume they didn't competely resovle the issue. I've got the 16gig 3g and I experience the same contact lag, keyboard lag at least 4+ times a day, and still app that stop working.

I had downloaded all new apps the day 2.0.1 came out and hadn't had a problem until yesterday when one crashed and then none of them would open anymore. as far as I corcerned that's the most important issue considering when it happens you have to delete and redownload every app.

No, they probably didn't. If they had, then I'd have no keyboard or contact lags now. Well keyboard lags may be another issue, because the prediction feature will need some time no matter how optimized it is.

OTOH, what you're experiencing may be unique to your iPhone. Could it be a hardware issue? Have you considered taking it to an Apple Store for diagnosis?

its not a hardware issue. many people on macrumors complain about lag.

its a bit less and better, but it still lags for me on contacts.

sms for me is ok.

well since there seems to be alot of people with lag I'm not as concerned with that as I am the fact that I can't seem to have 3rd party apps stable for more then a few weeks

My point is that a lot of people are reporting less lags since they updated to 2.0.1 while the OP says the situation has not improved at all. That is why I suggested it may be an issue specific to his iPhone.

I have keyboard lag when typing emails. Kinda sucks since that's where most of the typing takes place.

2.0.1 fixes the keyboard lag for me. I had few problems with apps crashing in 2.0, although I only have about 7 apps installed. All-in-all I am happy. People had to kind of expect this though, third party apps=more crashes no matter what Apple did. You don't need a PhD to work that one out.
