iPhone 3G without contract

Hey guys, do you know where I can buy iPhone 3G without contract in San Diego, New Jersey or New York? I am hoping for your response. Thanks

This is not currently possible. You can not walk out of an Apple or AT&T store without a contract currently.

AT&T will be offering iPhones unlocked down the road for much higher prices, but the "unlocked" actually only means, "Contract free" and the ability to go month to month with AT&T, not the ability to take the phone to another GSM carrier. Not date yet that I have seen for the availablilty of the "unlocked" phones.

End of December an unlock is coming for the iphone 3G via the iphone Dev Camp. What would we do without these folks?

since apple released unlocked iphone 3g in hong kong and taiwan, someone might bring the unlocked ones to the states, i guess. so try craigslist or ebay, and you can find them.
