I find it irritating to have to disconnect my headphones while listening to music every time a call comes in. I can hear the call through the headphones but when I move the phone to a ear, the screen doesn't shut off so I'll end up accidentally hitting the speaker button
Is this expected behavior?

this is how it was designed to work. You can just hold the phone up to your mouth and hit the lock button to kill the screen ya know.

I'm lazy but if that's how it's been designed then I'll have to adjust. Thanks

You can use the original headphones that came with the iPhone. They have a built-in microphone that lets you take calls without disconnecting them. Third-party vendors sell compatible products, too. I use Sennheiser MM50 headphones, which has the same feature.
