No. I bought a new 32gb touch on 8/3/08 from an Apple store and it did not have the 2.0 software.

I'd say it depends upon the store. Some have old iPod touches in stock while others may have sold them out and got new shipments. I am pretty sure the iPod touches manufactured in July have 2.0 installed.

I bought a 16gb itouch last week from apple and called to complain that I had to pay for an update on the first sync. Apple advised me that NO itouch's come with 2.0. No one gets it for free.

I just got my iPod touch last week and it only had the January Software Upgrade on it. I'm pretty sure you need to pay for 2.0.

It might be on the new ones that's coming out. I'm almost sure of that.
