Hi All,

I have been using my ipod touch for at least a year now with no problems but last night I plug in to update some songs and it wiped the songs and now shows capacity full. I had a quick google last night and it seams the problem could be the following

I use a work laptop and thus have all my songs and itunes saved on an external hard drive. I read last night that itunes duplicated the files or something and thus it thinks its full but actually has nothing on it. One of the suggestions was deleing the itunes library files from my pc ..which I did and from that all my songs on itunes are now gone too (my fault I know)

Any help on how to fix this ?

I really would like to keep itunes and my songs saved externally – is there a way to stop it backing up to my pc ?

If this doesn’t make sense please let me know as I need this fixed as I have a party on Saturday night with no music now 

Thanks in advance

My guess is that the database on your iPod Touch has been corrupted. The simplest solution to that is to restore and re-add your music.

I'm not sure what you did with iTunes. Did you delete the actual music files? Or just iTunes' library files. In either case, I'd try undeleting from the recycling bin. If you just lost the iTunes library and can't restore them, you could simply re-add the files to iTunes, then sync your Touch.
