I understand with the basic subscription I would get to download 1 audiobook per month. However, I see huge price differences between the many books offered. Would I only get to choose from a specific price bracket or from some other kind of limited list? I tried looking around for an answer to this but really couldn't find anything.
Thanks in advance from a newb

Triton,
You can get ANY book with your subscription -- no matter what the price. It really is a good deal if you like audio books.

I found that hard to believe at first as well Triton, but 'tis true. Don't go blowing your credit on some measley $1.95 30-minute program, now. ;)

It is a great deal.
I went shopping around before I joined and found the DaVinci Code on cd at Target for on ly $32 US.
It's almost like stealing. But without the shouts of "Hey you!". And the cops. And the cuffs.
I'll be quiet now.

Triton--
I don't think you'll regret your decision...I've been an audible member for almost three years, and have no intention of cancelling anytime soon.
Prior to finding audible, I did listen to a lot of audio books on cassette tape. When I joined audible, they had a deal where you could get a rio 500 for $50 with a one year audible subscription. I signed up--and was so pleased by the fact that I could get almost 13 hours (format 4) on my Rio (expanded with a smart media card).
Now that I have an iPod, I could put my whole library of audible books on it at once if I wanted to!!
Happy podding!
