I like the stock headphones for what they are. I was thinking of cutting a couple feet off 1 of my numerous pair's to make it work with my shuffle better.
Anyone else try this?

I've tried something similar and the result is been unsatisfying.
1st yer not gonna fina a small enuff jack to replace. Radio Shack's replacement jack monster by comparision.
2nd any cable splicing will leave an annoying kink on the cable. The only satisfying option is to resolder at the bud, but I don't think the buds are disassemble-able.
Any other options takes more$ more time, my guess is u will get used to it.
