I cancelled my order for an iPhone with Carphone Warehouse as they were taking too long to supply phone. I waited 7 days and they still had no idea when I would get a phone.

I have two questions, I am based in Central London.

1. What are peoples recent experience with getting an actual iPhone, in particular from the Apple store. How long does it take and do they have much stock? I am at work and can only go in the evening, is this too late and will I have to queue for a long time? I want a 16GB phone.

2. Does the fact that I cancelled my CPW phone order and also the O2 contract have a negative effect. Will they let me setup a new account without any problems?

I can't quite believe I still want one of these bloody phones!!

I too have been wanting one since launch, but due to work have not been able to get one yet.
They are coming in in dribs and drabs. I know my local o2 store had some 16g ones in yesterday, but had sold out by lunch time.
I have been in formed that thee is going to be a huge delivery to the UK on the 25th of this month, so keep your eyes open.

I waited outside the o2 store (Holborn) from about 7:45 on the day of the launch. I was told by about 8:10 that all the 16gb had sold out. I headed up to Fleet Street to try my luck there and it was the same story.

On the Monday came across this:

I checked the stock that night and decided to head along the next day. When I got the the Apple Store they had plenty in stock and a choice of size and colours. I went along at lunch time. It took about 2 hours to be served though, but it was worth the wait :p
