i just picked up an unlocked/jailbroken(Ziphone) 8gig.
the seller identified the issue that the phone wont turn off, just reboots when you try to shut it down. he said its common and can be fixed.
ive noticed battery life is horrible. i can make it through the day but its pretty much dead. after just a few hours of normal use (some texting, phone, and data) its nearly half dead.
second thing im seeing is that when its locked/sleeping the unlock screen flashes on and then off just for a second. so the screen will be blacked out then for a second flash on like i pressed the home or wake button.
third, at random times ive getting the error message as if i plugged into a device not made for iphone when im not plugging into anything, phone will just be sitting there. message says somthing like "this device is not made for iphone, for best results switch to airplane mode..."
none of these, except for the battery, are really effecting use. i had planned from the beginning to restore the OS and unlock/jailbreak it myself to start from scratch more or less. are there any options for getting some battery life back?? if its a hardware issue what are my options??
also, what is the best unlock/jailbreak software. i was using winpwn last night and it seemed pretty good(didnt complete the unlock). considering it was originally unlocked with Ziphone ide like to try to use somthing else to see if i can correct some of these issues.
lastly, i know its been beaten like a dead horse, but... if i have synced my phone with my itunes and i do a restore and upgrade to 2.0 then unlock/jailbreak using pwnage will my contacts be re-synced when im all done. thats really the only thing i care/worry about with my phone.
