2.0 can no longer play just audio from video podcasts

2.0 can no longer play just audio from video podcasts .

in 1.0 i occasionally would play just the audio from a video podcast, say, cranky geeks, in lieu of downloading both audio and video versions. i did this by selecting the video version from the audio podcast section of the menu. the sound would play, but the video would not.

in 2.0, i can no longer do this. instead, 2.0 plays the video in either the "videos" section or the "podcasts" section. is my only option to now download both versions of podcasts, or is there a workaround.

Yes, I have the same problem! I used to 'listen' to video podcasts when working out, and obviously 'watching' to video podcasts when I can, but it seems like the 'listening' function has been removed???!!! Could this be?? Please tell me one of my favorite functions hasn't been removed!!

Finally!!! I found a work around!! It's not pretty, but it's not an ugly hack either. Anyway, someone please tell Apple to RESTORE THE AUDIO ONLY FUNCTION when listening to video podcasts. How are we supposed to listen to video podcasts when working out, right?

I found the solution here:

1. Play the video podcast
2. Press the HOME button
3. Put the iPhone to sleep (by pressing the on/off button)
4. Double Click the Home button to bring up the shortcut iPod control
5. Press PLAY
6. Put iPhone to sleep

Now you can listen to your video podcast with the screen off, just like iPhone OS 1.0!!!!
