I can't find any reviews of these, but they look pretty interesting:

I like the metal housing, but I'm more interested in the sound quality. I do most of my listening with a set of cans or studio monitors, but it would be nice to have something that sounds decent and has plays nice with my iPhone for workouts, lawn mowing, etc.

Any other recommendations in the sub $100 iPhone-ready ECH category?

TIA!

I think they are alright for the price. Some people have trouble with the bass on these ear buds as it can be hard to get a proper fit. I ended up having to use ear bud covers off of a different set in order to get the bass to sound acceptable.

If you like hard thumping bass, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. These have about average bass.

Other than that, I love the design as they use the same clicker mic that Apple does for their headsets. It's lightweight and very easy to use. The Ultimate Buds company is very prompt on shipping.

Just for comparison, I've used ear buds from other companies like Shure, Skullcandy, and Sony and I've never had issues getting a proper fit until I used the UB5s. Personally, I feel that there's a flaw in their design that somehow impacts the bass of these without an absolutely perfect fit.

I just returned mine. First off, they sound great, and are an excellent value. My particular pair had a defective clicker. The clicker on these is NOT the original Apple one, it is a similar but modified design. The UB5 has a integrated windscreen. Mine was not properly pausing iTunes/next song. The responsive 'click' you feel with the Apple one was missing. I got a refund, even though I could have gotten a replacement for the defective one. I decided to go with the Bose in-ear headpones. They are more comfortable, and though from an audiophile standpoint are less accurate, they are lots of fun with the extra bass. Im very happy with them. Ill do business with Ultimate Buds again if they come up with new headphones using the original Apple clicker.
