Safari conection works but not Weather or iTunes

Yesterday I received my new iPod Touch 32Gb and I'm doing some testing with it.

I configured my WiFi and everything worked fine. I tryed Safari, Weather, iTunes WiFi store, Maps, etc.

Later I checked and iTunes store don't opens, then tried weather and don't update information. My WiFi signal was good and active.

I thought Wifi was not working but then tryed Safari and I can open pages without problems.

How is this possible? If WiFi connection works with Safari why not with other apps?

It's tried...

Did you try to restore the iPod? If not give it an ol' restore, if that doesn't work go to a genius bar, for you to have access and not have updates, is odd! Is your touch jailbroken?

No jailbroken at all. It's totally brand new and arrived 2 days ago. In fact I don't even wanted to install firmware 2.0 becouse I'm seens some horror stories about unstability with this and I'm staying with 1.1.4.

Sadly I don't have any Apple Store of genius bar on my area.

Anyway I tryed one thing and now it seems to work better. I looked at the WiFi settins and noticed that the host field was blank. Then I put a name there (iPod) and then the services that don't worked throught WiFi seems to work again.

I know it's weird but seems to work. Some times it takes some time to connect but not I have WiFi Store, You Tube, Weather and all the rest connecting and working.
