I bought the 2.0 upgrade but it tells me that everything will be lost, when i apply the upgrade. I do not keep my audio/video files on my computer because they take up too much space. Is there any way I can add this upgrade and not lose all of my info on my ipod? Backup?

When I did the upgrade it backed up everything and restored everything to the iPod Touch. You didn't Jailbreak the iPod did you? That might be an issue.

My touch was jailbroken, and I just did 2.0 last night. All my music, video's, etc were there, but obviously cleared off any jailbroken stuff.

If your backup fails then your screwed. Which is what happened to my I had start all over again and resync everything to the iPod touch.

To others...: That's why having a jailbroken iPod is a bad idea. If you wanted to go with 2.0 in the future, you would lose all of your jailbroken stuff. It's best to fork over the $10 and have the peace of mind of knowing your info is safe.
