Currently I'm in the market for an Ipod Touch. I'm itching just to get a new ipod. The thing is, when I buy a new ipod it seems that something new and even better comes out within the next few weeks. My question is, should I get a Touch now or just wait a little bit to see if apple MAYBE has something new up their sleeve? I'm torn at what to do because I'm so tired of my Ipod Mini its indescribable. Anyways, any help?

I say wait. But if you do decide toget one, I'd suggest getting the iPhone. Mainly because a 16g iphone cost the same amount as the 8g ipod touch. So you would be getting a better deal with getting the iphone 3g.

Thats exactly what I would do Darkalias, but I cannot afford the monthly payment of $70-$80 on the iPhone. That is the only thing keeping me from getting it. So, I dont know if I should wait to see if they improve or come out with a new touch or just get one now.

Dunno if this will help at all, but I was speaking to one of the dudes in the Apple store in NY in May, I asked the same question, was Apple going to bring out new versions of the touch soon and he said that they'd been told it would be too expensive to make a bigger capacity touch at the moment as the memory it uses is more expensive.
Then again, things could have changed since then..

Yea, you truly never know what Apple will do. I'm leaning towards waiting til September though, I think it'll be a win-win situation either way.

laxkid891,
A 8 or 16 is more than enough if you want the touch for the Apps. If price/hard-drive size is important to you, try to wait off for another few months. An update is sure to be right around the corner.
Personally, I went ahead and got the 16 knowing fully that a newer version will come out within 2-5 months. I figured the usefulness of having my Apps NOW far outweighed the money I would save if I had waited.
