I just upgraded my iPod Touch to 2.0. I am now having trouble with my screen reading my finger movements.. For example, when I turn on the Touch, I am sliding my finger to turn it on, and I have to slide it a dozen times before I can get it to slide completely across the bottom and open. The problem is also appearing when I try to flip to a new page or in applications like contacts when I try to flip through contacts to get down the alphabet.
Is anyone else experiencing this? If not, am I doing something wrong?
Thank you in advance!

Im having the same problem the more I use my iPod touch since the 2.0 update. The touch screen is not as responsive as before and more slower to respond when it does.

Thank goodness someone else is experiencing this too. I thought I was going crazy (or that my fingers also needed to be updated to 2.0) However, at this point it seems that we are the only two experiencing this. I would like to see if there are any similarities between us.
I downloaded 2.0 on Friday evening.
I have a screen protector.
I downloaded some apps: NYTimes, EpocratesRx, Baseball, Morocco, & HoldEm.
I set my Touch up to sync with my work server (working great by the way).
If this doesn't result in our figuring this out, I may resort to... yes, the dreaded restore.
Anyone else want to chime in here?

Hi, I have the same problem. I also have 2.0 installed. Here's the thing; I had a cracked screen Touch, which apple replaced, and I got the unit a couple of days before the 2.0 update release. I wound up not touching the iPod until the weekend (as I didn't want anything to happen to it until I got a case for it, etc.) Anyway, I hadn't really used the Touch and so I wasn't sure whether the strange touchscreen issue was a hardware one or an update related issue. (Frankly, I think it's more likely a hardware issue, but since you guys have a similar problem...)
On my Touch, I noticed that (if the Touch is held upright) I have basically a dead zone down the middle of the screen. The problem is especially bad on the keyboard, as Y, G, H, B, and V do not work for me. Sometimes the middle portion of the screen is responsive, sometimes not. And sometimes, you can see the screen move rapidly up and down even though I am keeping my finger still on the Touch's screen.
I tried using the touchscreen with and without 3 different screen protectors, and with and without a case. The bare unit also has these problems, so it isn't due to the screen being covered or some weirdness with the case warping the iPod shell.
Do either of you have these symptoms?

I do not notice any particular dead zones on my screen. It is pretty consistent all over. Sometimes it detects my finger movements, sometimes it doesn't. I did not have a screen replacement. I too took my Touch out of the case and there was no difference. I do not have the screen movement that you described above.
I think that it is related to the upgrade as it was not a problem Friday before the upgrade to 2.0. It is terribly frustrating.
