Since your iPod is jailbroken, you cannot upgrade from 1.1.4 to 2.0 and keep your jailbreak stuff. The upgrade to 2.0 will wipe away all of that. However, there should be a jailbreak for 2.0 within a week from the iPhone DevTeam (PwnageTool), but you still couldn't keep your jailbreak from 1.1.4. You would need to upgrade to 2.0, and then start all over with your jailbreak for 2.0, which is my plan. But, if you really like your 1.1.4 jailbreak, you can stick with it and not upgrade to 2.0.
The thing with a jailbreak is that once you jailbreak, you're stuck at that firmware unless you want to restore, upgrade, and then jailbreak all over again. The 2.0 upgrade is major, so now is a good time to upgrade and then jailbreak. Hopefully, we will have the best of both worlds with installer and the app store once the jailbreak is released.

glad to help, and glad to hear you're upgrading. it would be a wise idea to write down the sources you used in installer before you upgrade so that you may be able to get all the same apps/stuff back once you jailbreak again. i didn't have the opportunity to do that, and i wish i did.

does that mean if stay with 1.1.4: installer will then not work anymore since they're all be in 2.0? im confused...
