I just recently placed an order on a 8 Gig iPod iTouch. I have a few questions hopefully you guys help me out =].

Is it true that wifi hotspots are hard to find? Is Safari really fast?
Last but not least. I've hurd the new 2.0 update causes some issues will it affect me? even if I have a new ipod? Can I use the Itunes card to purchase update?

That's all guys. I'm glad that I ordered one and joined the club.
Hopefully I fall in love with it.

Congrats on the purchase. Wifi Hotspots depends on your area..the more urban areas tend to have more. Wifi is fast, in fact according to some the Wifi is faster than the 3G..however the availablity of a Wifi Hotspot is what limits it.

As for 2.0, I doubt the iPod Touch already includes the 2.0 as it was just released two days ago. You can use the gift card if you are in the united states to get the update...I however recommend you wait because there are some battery drain issues as well as stability issues with 2.0. I recommend you stick to 1.1.4 [which is probably whats loaded on your iPod] until a new firmware comes out.

1. Wifi = Depends on where you live, if you live in a city, then Wifi should be very easy to find. Rural and suburban areas may not have access points though, unless you're lucky enough to have a neighbour who doesn't secure their Wifi =P

2. Speed = Well, it's like a Wifi laptop. Closer you are to the access point, the faster your internet will be.

Thanks you guys for the detail responses. I wish I could + Rep you but it seems this board doesn't have that feature.

So, did apple say they will create a updated version of 2.0? Since it's causing so much problems as I researched, battery drains, loss of wifi - connectivity, and some apps not working.

So, I'll take your advice and not download the update but I was so hyped when I saw aim, and games like Crash on iTouch. Hopefully they'll update this patch.
