I am trying to upgrade my iPod touch's firmware to 2.0 but I keep getting errors, and now I have the spinning wheel of death. How can I somehow restore and upgrade my iPod touch?

Sorry for a waste of a post, but I got it to work. After plenty of times trying, it finally worked.

Can you say what you did to get it to work? I too have the spinning wheel of death and am not sure what to do?? Got a message stating there was some kind of error and now am not sure what to do. I do not have a jailbroken touch. I'm starting to get a sinking feeling that Apple just bricked my beloved touch!! Can anybody offer any words of encouragement?

First backup your files. Then the best way to update is to put it into recover mode by holding the home button when turning the ipod touch on. After that, just go to update on your itunes.
