So I was upgrading my firmware to 2.0, and with my awesome luck the power in my house went out in the middle of the upgrade. So in result my iphone is unresponsive just showing the connect to itunes screen which I did. I tried doing a restore with the 2.0 firmware and the 1.4 but both times I get a error that says "The iphone cannot be restored, an known error has occurred (20)". I did go to the genius bar but they didn't have any appointments open until sat which I can live with, but I want to be sure their isn't anything else I can try on my own. Thanks

I was able to download the 2.0 update, but when it got to the step of backing up the iphone during installation, I got an error (-5000) saying it wasn't able to back up the iPhone; if I proceeded, all contents would be lost. I stopped there, not wanting to lose my contacts, bookmarks, etc..
I've done a manual backup (i.e., right clicking on the phone in iTunes and selecting "Backup"). Should I proceed past that error? Will I be able to restore from that? I'm just not sure what I should do.

In case anyone else finds this thread in the future... I eventually just clicked through the errors I received (one while installing iTunes 7.7, and the 2.0 one mentioned above), and everything worked fine. When I got to the end, I was asked which backup I wanted to restore from. I picked the most recent one, and everything was good to go.
