Okay, so I've decided to purchase a new set of IEM's. The three most important things I value in them are: not overly base-ish since I don't listen to rap/hip hop except for a few songs, great sound isolation/passive noise isolation, and a good fit. So far, I've narrowed it down to two pairs..1) being Philips Premium Sound ear hook ear buds. Or 2) Scosche's Hi-Fi ear buds. I've NEVER heard of Scosche, but is it possible someone could give me a review of their product, and if they could stand up to Shure perhaps?...My budget is 48.92, so I sadly can't get a pair of Shures :( . I was also looking into Skullcandy and JVC's Air Cushion ear buds but I heard those were very base-ish as well. Thanks to anyone who can help :)

My Skullcandy's are good - nott to bass heavy, but good enough for the price.

I had some Philips Premium ear-hook ones (before they were stolen along with my previous iPod)...I have never had a pair of earphones yet that matched them. And I've had a few.
I am a budget-buyer, so can't really compare to Shure's or even Senn's but for the money, I'd probably go with the Phillips ones.

Spend your money on sound quality and durability, not pretty colors and marketing. The sennheiser cx300 are the best phones you can get for 48$.

I've been slightly impressed with iFrogz ear pollution in ears. Pretty good phones. I did have to return my first pair because the cord came apart at the plug... But the second pair has been pretty good. You can find them for between $15-$40. There plastic housing does appear mildy fragile though. You wouldn't want to accidently step on them or carry them where they would get crushed easily.

The phillips in-ears are a decent phone for the price persay... between $20-$40. Can usually find them at Target and Walmart. I enjoyed them until I lost them at the mall somehow...

I was actually looking into the Sennheiser 300's, and the Philips one's the previous user suggested, but I found out that both offer too much base on some other forums and review sites.

A lot of the lower end phones are going to be advertized as "bass enhanced" or "bass heavy"

I didn't consider the phillips I had too heavy on the bass, but much of my music is not very "bass" heavy in the first place...

See if you can buy from a place with a liberal return policy. Best buy let me return a set of in ears I tried that I ended up hating (sony's Er-71s) They WERE bass heavy.

Hm. I've also been looking at Fuji Labs, and another company called MEElectronics. I believe their Ai-M2 sound isolating earbuds were reviewed on this site. Would you happen to know anything about MEElectronics, Sound Squared or Fuji Labs?..

I've never used the Senns.

Hm. Well...In the case of the Philips Premium Sound ear hook earbuds, or the Sennheiser 300's. Would I have to adjust my EQ settings on my Ipod at all, or is the base not that bad to have to do that?

I'd suggest the Senns CX300. Really good for the price.

Besides the Sennheisers. Would anyone know anything about the MEElectronics Sound-isolating Earbud Headphones, Fuji Labs Acoustic Sealing Earbuds, or http://sound2co.com/index.php <-- that company called "Sound Squared"?..That's actually where I ordered my last pair of IEM's, and sent them back because they sounded tinny...Man...If only I had known the proper way to put IEM's in correctly before doing that
