I just got my 3G 20gig, and know I need a case. I'm intrigued by the Xtremity system by Xtrememac (I like how you almost never have to take the Ipod out of the case, and how it is made for a belt clip and a dashboard clip). Has anyone used this? Does this work? It seems like an elegant solution, but I'm looking for a second opinion before I buy it.
If you don't like this case, please explain why, and suggest which case you would recommend.
Thanks!

I am also interested in this one of a kind case, anybody who has one wanna talk about it?
So, I ordered an Xtremity case from Xtrememac.com in January. After waiting several weeks, I emailed the company and was told that the cases were being reconfigured because of a design flaw and would be backordered until 2/21/04. Just now I checked their website and that notice has been changed to 3/10/04. Has anyone actually received this product and is it worth waiting this long for???
I must say I like the look of this 'system' - I suppose it's better to get the case right rather than put out a defective product. No consolation for you I know, but if you have decided on this case it may be worth the wait?

Ordered mine in January as well. I've been patiently waiting because this seems like the perfect case for my needs. I'm giving them one more chance to come through or else I'm canceling my order. There are too many good cases out there to make customers wait 2 months for your product.

I got my XTremity at an Apple Store two weeks ago, and returned it the following day.
I did not like having to raise the plastic cover to get at the controls all the time...the plastic cover seats cheaply, and I felt it could easily scratch the iPod surface. Removing the cover defated the purpose for me.
I also did not like tight fit of the case body...again, too easy to scratch when I often need to remove the case to dock my iPod with the stereo at home.
My preferred cases are the Contour Showcase for minimalist style and very easy in/out on a daily basis; and a bevy of iSkin exo2 for coloring purposes at special events.
Just my thoughts...

I would much rather wait for a finished product than have one rushed to me half-a$$ed. It's definitely a personal preference thing as to whether or not the wait is worth it. Patience is a virtue, but scratches are waiting around every corner!

Does anyone have an opinion on using the system mainly as a car mount?

I was wondering about using this with a Lajo exo3. If the case is a tight fit though, I don't know. But isn't it supposed to fit 30-40GB iPod's too? I have a 15, so I would think there'd be some extra space in there. I mostly like it over the showcase because of the car mount.

Almost nobody has those yet. I guess they recalled them and they aren't shipping yet. I was wondering about using it with a Lajo exo3.

Two threads on the same topic have been merged - it is counter productive having multiple threads on the same topic running.

I just wanted to let you all know that I'm working on a review for my site of the Xtremity and thought that I'd share some of my experiences here, since everyone seems to be wondering about this particular case.
So far, the Xtremity is not a bad case, as it is very flexible in its uses. With the redesigned flip cover (with rubber cushions at the top), it won't scratch like on previous models. Another advantage is that it works with 3G and 4G iPods.
It's tough to get the iPod in and out, and you have to open the flip cover to change songs and other controls. Other than that, in my first week of use, the Xtremity has proven to be a pretty decent, although not spectacular case. I think that the major plus is that it comes with a car mount, a nice belt clip, and the removable flip cover allows the use of iTrips/iTalks/and things like that.
