JVC AirCushions Quick Review (HA-FX66-A)
This is my first oficial review, so feel free to correct me.:D
I bought these from amazon for $22 shipping incluided. Based on the comments of amazon, the Aircushions totally lack of bass, sound is tiny and the fit is horrible. Well, this is not true, any good-branded in-ear has bass. All those people who said "has no bass at all" is because they didnt fit them properly.
First the specs:
Frequency: 10hz-23khz
Sensivity: 110db/1mW
Impedance: 16ohm
Cord/weight: 1M, 3.5g I'm 6'2'' and Cord lenght is ok, but I wish it was 10cm longer.
Specs have never been important to me, because you can have a pair of $300 in-ears and a pair of chinese generic-branded crappy one, and their specs are almost identical.
Comfort: 5/5 COMFORTABLE! These rest at your ears and wont fall of with a simple pull. I wouldnt call the aircushions in-ear because they dont actually insert to your ear canal, they stay in the mid but the seal is good enough. You can have them for hours and wont hurt your ears. Small, Medium, large silicon earpieces were included, plus a small pair of memory foam which is too small for my ears and they are not secured well enough in the earbud.
Build quality: 4.5/5 Build quality is pretty good, the cord feels durable and the 3.5mm conector is solid. The earbud itself is made of hard plastic inside and a flexible silicone in the outside filled with air, just as the name tells: aircushion. The included case is a joke, it is worse to have them in the case then wrap them around your pmp.
Sound quality: 4/5 I tested the aircushions on my Meizu M6. They might sound better in others media players like cowon/crative!
Bass: Bass is good, not superb, you can hear plenty of it in the backgorund. These tend to reproduce lower range of bass, and unlike my koss sparkplug it doesnt sacrifice the treble in order to repruduce bass. Wont vibrate in your ears and the volume is adecuate. I'm a bass big fan and these are good, bass is natural and you hear the song as it is meant to sound.
Mids: Mid sounds nice and warm. Comparing to my other cheapos (koss spark plus, koss kep24) These have the best mids. I heard parts of the song which I didnt heard before with other earphones.
Highs: Highs are clear and they dont lack in many genres of music. Low and high are reproduced in the same time without problem.
In my case, highs are little bit too loud, I would have prefered more bass instead. But it's just me! Sound is good overall.
For less than $25, these are definetly an excellent deal. If you want cheap good sounding in-ears, get them NOW! I have compared these with the mashmallows, and these are definetly better.
