When I bought my Ipod touch it worked well with other computers. However it wasn't as successful with my pc. It came up with the error x800001 or some thing can't remember.
I tried putting my ipod in recovery mode in order to reboot it, but it got stuck on recovery mode with the itunes error 1604.
I tried everything I could; like deleting all apple/ itunes stuff from the computer, getting a new usb 2.0 port, reinstalling Itunes and doing everything you guys have posted, but still didn't work.
After a while their was something wrong with my software, not hardware. So I downloaded and installed a new driver for my USB, that still did not work.
What did work was installing the windows XP service pack 2, I dont know why but it worked.
Even if you already have the pack try installing it again.
Download a new usb 2.0 driver from here
http://www.softwarepatch.com/utilities/via-usb2.html
And here is the xp pack 2 link
http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/xpsp2.html
Thats if your on xp, if your on 2000 try this
http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/windows2000sp4.html
Tell me if it works.
