ok, I'm planing to buy an iPod Touch, but I've 3 questions:

1. I have wireless internet at home, can I get online here?

2. Can I check my Gmail and chat on an iPod Touch?

3. Can I play music and be online at the same time?

1. Yes.

2. Yes. Although if you chat you will need to use a portal like meebo.com, at least until an IM client is released via the App Store. You can also check Gmail through Mail.app (I think...not positive).

3. Yes, but the iPod touch has limited onboard memory and tends to kick you out of Safari every now and then if you are browsing and listening at the same time.

Cameron is right on all 3. Just wanted to clear up that you CAN check your Google mail with it. I use it that way all the time with two different accounts.

I will also add for question 1 that if you have the wrong wireless router at home and try to use WEP security, you may have an issue. THat's what I found and haven't figured out a fix just yet. What I did in the meantime is limit my connections to my wireless router by MAC address. It's not perfect by any means, but it's better than nothing. Note that MOST people don't encounter this issue.
