Hey everybody, brand new poster here...

I can't seem to fix the weather icon. It always says 73 degrees and sunny, but when I click it, it gives me the correct weather in my local area.

I don't know if this is supposed to happen or what?

Any help please?

The weather icon on the menu screen is not live-updating. It's just a static picture. This is correct behaviour.

It would be nice if the weather button was live updating but it is not. Maybe with this upgrade, but I doubt.

Why? So you can waste battery to see the temperature has gone up 2 degrees? Checking emails regularly I can see - but most people just check weather once a day or so (if there isn't severe weather). Why update it all the time and waste battery better spent on other things?

Why not just stick your head out the window, get outside, stop playing inside with your touch....I get the weather every morning by just walking outside for work! : )

Seriously though, having it be an active app would be a tad silly! IMO

Yeah, I guess I can understand that.

Still, it would be nice if you are listening to music or whatnot and you could pop by the homescreen and see the weather at a glance.

Again, I ask, the weather is everywhere, why not 'glance' out a window, instead of the homescreen to get live weather updates. You cant get any more live then looking outside that exact second

I have a friend in Sacramento, a thousand and some odd miles from here. I like to look at their weather to see what it's like there at the moment. The weather app is useful for this...it's not just for looking at what the temperature/weather is RIGHT NOW, you know....

Because glancing out the window doesn't give you the temperature. Because some people are in enclosed rooms with no windows nearly all day. Because sometimes people commute to different cities or travel to different cities so they like keeping an eye on what's going on.

So I ask a new question, whats with the love of looking up the weather of cities you don't live in? Do you converse with people in the cities about the weather??? Also, someone said what if a person is in a room with no windows all day. I say, cant ya walk out a door? Out of the room with no windows? Hmmmm, I don't think I am being an butt face, but these type of things always amaze me, i like peoples quirks I suppose!

I suppose that if the weather was updated all the time on the homescreen it would mean having wifi enabled all of the time and bearing in mind the drain on the battery etc etc.
Either way it isn't hardly a long job or hardwork just going into the weather page.

So I suppose you are going to just tell the boss, "Hey, I want to know what the weather is like, I'll step outside for a second!"

Many, many people work in an environment that for whatever reason, they can't just "glance outside the window"

And what is wrong with knowing what the weather is like in other cities? Sometimes, people are just curious.

Don't be so naive!

Calendar and Mail show real-time data (I get it that the icons are not active). So the Weather icon, reporting 73 degrees could be easily misunderstood. This is a valid comment. Easy fix: change the icon to get rid of the "73".

A lot of people have friends and family that sometimes live in different cities, maybe even different countries. It's hard to tell (at least for me) what is happening in London or Oslo by looking out my window in Seattle.
