Hey guys, new here..

Although I've been reading the forum over the last couple of weeks. It seem the more I read, the more options I'm finding and more questions pop up.

Awesome site in general! :)

Hey guys,

I did a search didn't come up with what I'm looking for.

Was hoping could get some advice on some earphones.

Things I'm looking for.
- Noise Isolation / Cancellation.
- Asymmetric. (Wrap around back of neck type, if possible).
- Good bass.

Music I listen to is generally metal, but I listen to other stuff too.

One's I've been looking at are:

Etymotic ER-6i Isolator
Ultimate Ears Super Fi 5
Shure SE210
Bose In-Ear
Jays d-JAYS

Any help or tips would be awesome!! :)

Good bass..... Ety 6i is out..... Bose overpriced for its performance.... SE-210 bass isn't too fantastic.... d-jays wasn't close in performance to the UE 5pro.

I think the best is still SF5pro but u may have an issue with fitting problem. It would be safer if u can try on the earphones before u make up your mind.

Why do you have UE super.fi 5s but only the d-Jays? The q-Jays are well regarded as being in the same league as super.fi 5s for sound over on head-fi, are regarded as being more comfortable, and aren't that much more expensive.

I love my SF5s and will soon be upgrading to triple.fis, but their fit & comfort is definitely hit and miss depending on your particular ear conformation. The q-jays seem to fit about everybody who fits more standard IEMs.

At any rate, out of the ones you have listed, it's the super.fi 5s in my opinion, but I'd also consider q-Jays or even Westone UM2s (although they won't have the bass of the super.fis).

Awesome, thanks for the feed back guys!

The ones I have there are just ones that caught my eye. And by no means would I not buy outside of that list. I'll check out the q-Jays and Westone UM2.

I don't think there is any chance of trying out the super fi's though.. I don't know anyone with them.

Thanks again for the input guys, most appreciated.

Well, my super Fi's arrived yesterday!! Cannot believe how good they sound!

Amazing, best purchase I've made in a long time!

I see what people say about the comfort factor, I like them myself though.
