I've been seeing these skullcandy brand earbuds and I'm wondering how good they are. They seem to look trendy, but what's the sound quality? Is there enough bass without distortion? That's what I want to know. Any ideas? I've heard some negative comments about these and I want to find out for sure before I spend my money.

In general, skullcandy is universally and deservedly reviled. However, their Ink'd line has modest/faint support on head-fi if you find them on sale:

Basically, for the money, you can do better. Skullcandy is all about looks.

Could go as much as $50 if the quality is worth it. I want the canal-style earbuds for noise reduction.

How about the cheap sennheiser in ears? I think they're the cx300. They should be around 50$
