Hi all,

Looking to upgrade from the headphones that come with the phone because they don't stay in my ears at all (I have to wrap the wire around my ears and they still don't stay in that well...). I would like something that will fit in and stay in my ear rather than fall out when I turn my head. Other than that, I'm looking for something I can find in the sub-$150 range.

I'm NOT really an audiophile, so I won't be extremely picky when it comes to sound and all that, but I do want to get value for what I pay. I typically listen to rock and metal and I'm not a big fan of bass-heavy headphones. I want a nice clean and crisp sound that I can hear each part well rather than a rumble of bass and double-bass pedal that some people who listen to these genres tend to prefer. I do tend to listen to a lot of music that is out of these genres as well, so something that suits the overall music listener's ear would be nice. Other than that, I don't think I have any other comments!

Oh yeah, if someone really recommends a set with a microphone, I'll be happy to take that, but it's not a deal-breaker. I don't mind putting the phone up to my ear.

Thanks!

That looks like a nice alternative but a 90 day warranty sort of kills the deal.

That looks like a nice alternative but a 90 day warranty sort of kills the deal. You do always wonder why a reputable company won't at least go a year on their products. If the product's own manufacturer won't make a minor financial bet that the majority of them will last a year, why would the consumer?

Companies need to stop making compromises on elements that fail so easily (thin cords, lightweight iPhone compatible jacks, straight headphone jacks, lightweight earphone assemblies that allow too much tension on the cord/driver connection, etc.) and/or be willing to stand behind their compromises a lot longer than 3 months. I've only had one earphone fail before 3 months, three (total) failed before 1 year, and seven (total) fail before two years because of the sort of reasons I just highlighted. Since I'm sure I represent an extreme (~8-12 hours a day use), if more than half of earphones with one or more of the above compromises can survive more than 12 months under my gorilla treatment, a 3 month warranty implies highly unreliable in my book.

/rant off.

The xbox 360 is a perfect example of this warranty issue actually
