If I unlock it, can I use a prepaid Go phone account on it so I can use it as prepaid. Can I also have a data plan seperate on top of that?

My phone is on a goPhone plan, but getting one from ATT really can only be done, if you have a nice ATT rep that will do it for you, or if you activate it with iTunes, and you fail the credit check. Data plan is the normal one everyone gets, whether you have a goPhone or a contract.
BTW, you do not need to unlock it to use it as a goPhone, and you have to have an iPhone specific sim to get the iPhone cheap data rate and features, otherwise ATT charges an arm an a leg for internet, as my daughter found out..

You don't need to unlock it, only activate it. There is a lot of software out there which will do this.
But SouthsideIrish is right, you need to be nice to the AT&T rep.
