In June it is highly probable that a newer, faster 3G iPhone will be released. At or around this time iPhone firmware 2.0 should be released with many modifications to the iPhone OS. It is widely believed that both iPhone devices will run the same or very similar firmware versions.
The app store is a new application on iPhone that will enable users connected to wifi to buy applications that have been made by companies other than apple. These should me many and widely varied in type and functionality, and run the gamut in price from free to $10 and beyond depending on the app.
Other confirmed applications that are a part of the new iPhone firmware are an AIM chat client and support for microsoft exchange. I believe a lot of bugs will be fixed and changes made to safari as well.

so will we be able to watch and listen to streamed radio and video?
I
It depends on the programs. Is it possible? I believe so. Will it be done? Unsure.
Apple won't do it themselves though in 2.0.

Watch the podcast available from Apple and you will see it. It is more like... a simple version of a computer AIM or MSN.
Very smart, too.
