Can someone explain in simple terms what Web Apps are? I looked through the apple website and found some web apps that I liked, but if im not mistaken you need to be connected to the internet in order for these to work. The main one I like is one that keeps track of your time when you are out on job sites but if I need to be connected then it would work, because I would only be connected at home. Are the web apps programs or just websites that you go to to run the programs? If this is the case, is there a place to download programs for the touch even if they are paid programs?

Yes.

WebApps are applications that are run through a webpage. A browser could, possibly, save a webapp to be played later when offline, but no browser currently does this, they mostly only save words.

The use internet code that is decoded and used by an internet browser, in this case the Safari browser, and is not installed on the device (web clips can link to it on the device though)

These are thought of as inferior as webapps only work, as said above, when online, and people want that functionality without having to play with the internet, and with better integration with the device (like, being able to add extras into the settings menu ON the touch)

Apple has given an SDK to developers to write native apps like I mentioned are installed on the device and integrated with the iPhone OS (the OS on the touch) and the software will support this function and the installation in June.
