Left speaker on iphone louder than right?

me and my friend just got iphones and we notice when we cover the left speaker the right speaker isn't as loud as when we cover the right speaker. Is the left one supposed to be louder when u play music. I highly doubt me and him both have messed up speakers. i only tried this while playing music on the iphone.

btw sorry for so many questions, but i just got the yesterday.

The left side of the iPhone's bottom is the only speaker. The right side is not a a speaker at all - it's a microphone
